Privacy
Locals Feed has no ads and no third-party trackers.
Reading without an account
Reading doesn't set any cookies. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes requests, including your IP address, to deliver and protect the site.
Usage statistics
To understand how the site is used, we count page views, sign-ins, settings changes, and clicks on links to original posts and organizations' websites. These statistics are recorded by our own server, without cookies, and we never store your IP address.
To count daily visitors, we use a one-way code made from your IP address, browser, and the date. It changes every day, so you can't be followed from one day to the next, and it can't be turned back into your IP address. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control, we skip that code and don't count your clicks. Statistics are kept for 3 months and are never shared or sold.
Post images and organization logos are loaded directly from where they're published (for example Facebook or Instagram servers), so those servers receive your IP address when your browser loads them. We send them no referrer information.
If you sign in
Sign-in uses Google. We store only your Google account ID, email address, and name, plus the preferences you save (which categories and organizations you've turned off). A single cookie keeps you signed in. We never post anything on your behalf and never share or sell your data.
Deleting your data
You can delete your account and saved preferences at any time with Delete my account in Settings, or by emailing privacy@locals-feed.com.
